Dr. Jim Shaddix
Hope for Today
Dr. Jim Shaddix is the Senior Pastor of Riverside Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. He comes to Riverside from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he was Associate Professor of Preaching as well as Dean of Chapel. In 1992, Dr. Shaddix earned his Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He went on to receive a Doctor of Philosophy from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1996. In addition, he directed both the Professional Doctoral and Field Education programs at the seminary. Books authored by Dr. Shaddix include, The Passion Driven Sermon and Power In the Pulpit, which he co-authored with Dr. Jerry Vines who is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Shaddix has been married to the former Debra Gail Joyner since 1983. They have three children.
